Even the youngest children are growing up in a digital world and to help them navigate the internet and technology safely, tablets have now become a regular part of many primary school classrooms and are often used for learning.
LAMY’s Digital Writing Tools feature the same proven grip section as the brand’s fountain pens for young writers. However, these are not suitable for very young children or complete beginners. Since proper use of the Digital Writing Tools requires a certain level of writing experience, we recommend them for children from Grade 4 onwards.

The LAMY abc fountain pen is especially suitable for those learning to write for the first time. It features a durable stainless steel nib with a rounded tip, specifically developed for beginners, and is also available with a left-handed nib. Its large, sturdy grip section encourages a relaxed and ergonomic writing posture while ensuring a secure hold at the correct position.
For children with more writing experience, models such as the LAMY nexx M, LAMY safari, or LAMY AL-star also feature an ergonomic grip and remain comfortable to use even during longer writing sessions. Available in a variety of colors, each child can find their personal favorite. LAMY fountain pens use the large-capacity LAMY T10 ink cartridges, which hold more ink than standard ones allowing kids to write for many pages without frequent cartridge changes.
The LAMY abc writing system consisting of a beginner’s pencil and fountain pen was specially designed for children’s first writing experiences. The highlight of this series is its thick, ergonomically shaped grip section with soft, non-slip recesses that provide a secure hold while writing.
The LAMY abc fountain pen features a special beginner’s stainless-steel nib with a rounded tip, making it particularly durable. The design positions the thumb and index finger close to the nib, promoting the correct three-finger grip and making it especially easy for small hands to guide the pen.
As with all LAMY fountain pens, the nibs on the LAMY abc can be easily replaced, allowing it to be conveniently fitted with a special left-handed nib (LAMY Z 50, size LH) when needed.
The LAMY Z 50 nib in size A is specially designed to meet the needs of writing beginners. Made of stainless steel, it features a rounded nib tip that is particularly durable and glides smoothly across the paper.
