Calculated imperfection

„The Heidelberg Series“ by Dan Hogman www.instagram.com/danhogman

Architect Dan Hogman describes his creative work method as “capturing the essence in few but evocative lines”. His sketchbook and writing instrument go with him everywhere he goes, while free-hand drawing is his most important tool. Hogman says he is fascinated by the interaction between precision drawing and what he describes as “calculated imperfection”.

“Sketching by hand is spontaneous and genuine. It brings humanity and character into my architectural designs.” He allows a growing group of followers to participate closely in the creative process on Instagram (@danhogman) in the form of fascinating real-time and time-lapse clips.
