Lamy believes on handwriting as a future competence and announces corresponding newproducts
Heidelberg, March 2024
At LAMY, 2024 is all about the “future of handwriting”: The company is intensifying its commitment to education and advocating handwriting as a key skill for lifelong learning. With a view to the future of handwriting, LAMY is also expanding its digital writing portfolio, which had already been decided before the change of ownership: the LAMY safari note+, the brand's first stylus for the iPad, will be launched in the summer. LAMY is also strengthening its marketing initiatives and focusing on new communication approaches. For instance, the limited “LAMY x Harry Potter” edition in co-operation with Warner will follow at the end of the year. Lamy will thereby continue to pursue its premium strategy and will now be supported by Mitsubishi Pencil in the form of expertise, investment and an international distribution network.

Change of CEOs at LAMY – Beate Oblau and Thomas Trapp enter their planned retirement
Heidelberg, June 2022
In 2018, LAMY embarked on a comprehensive transformation process with a new vision for the brand and the company under the management of a marvellous trio: Beate Oblau, Thomas Trapp and Peter Utsch set the strategic course for the future of the Heidelberg-based writing instrument manufacturer. After Steffen Rübke joined the management as CEO in February, Oblau and Trapp are now retiring as planned.
On the journey from small Heidelberg writing instrument factory to internationally significant market leader and brand manufacturer, the birth of the LAMY design brand in 1966 was surely the most important milestone. But there are many more and it's worth taking a little journey through time to find out about them.
