LAMY safari KURUTOGA
A newly designed model in the popular LAMY safari, equipped with the KURUTOGA mechanism that keeps the lead rotating for a consistently sharp point.
The model is newly designed to incorporate the KURUTOGA mechanism while retaining the defining features of the LAMY safari, including its ergonomically shaped grip and its iconic, highly functional metal clip.
It is available in four colors, with a 0.5 mm lead size.
The KURUTOGA engine, which keeps the lead rotating to maintain a sharp point, is the same mechanism used in the “KURUTOGA KS Model,” which reduces pen tip wobble. With a structure that minimizes movement at the pen tip, it provides a writing experience with little perceptible motion, allowing the user to stay fully focused on writing.
About KURUTOGA
This product is equipped with the “KURUTOGA engine”, a mechanism developed by focusing for the first time on the tip of mechanical pencil lead. Conventional mechanical pencils suffer from “kathaberi” — the lead gradually wearing down at an angle — which causes problems such as thicker lines, increased breakage, and smudging from the crumbled lead.
To solve these issues, a mechanism that rotates the lead itself was developed. By rotating the lead slightly every time you write, the pencil offers the following benefits:
– Consistently fine and sharp writing
– Stable writing performance with less snagging of the lead on the paper
– No excess lead powder, keeping the paper clean
Replacement Eraser
For this product, please use the Mitsubishi Pencil replacement eraser “Eraser S” (Product Code: SKS). Please note that this eraser is not compatible with the replacement erasers used for the standard LAMY safari mechanical pencils that do not feature the KURUTOGA engine.
