10 years of Lamy in China: Anniversary marked with a big celebration


Heidelberg, August 2018 – It was on 8 August 2008 that Lamy and Energetic Asia Ltd jointly launched the sale of Lamy products in China. Today there are more than 134 local mono-brand stores, moreover online purchases can also be made through the major platforms. Thomas Trapp, Managing Director and Sales Director at Lamy, commented: “A superb achievement, based on a consistent brand strategy. Essentially, we owe our success in the Chinese market to our partner Energetic Asia Ltd – especially to Managing Directors Shirley Tsang and Perry Wong, who have shown great commitment and dedication to the LAMY brand over the past 10 years.”

The anniversary celebration took place in Shanghai on 8 August 2018, with more than 100 guests in attendance. Among these were business associates, dealers and also 20 Lamy fans, who had been chosen at random from the 400,000 followers of Lamy accounts on the Chinese microblogging site “Weibo”. In honour of the occasion, the WFC shopping centre in Chongqing sponsored the projection of two striking advertisements on the tower of their building.

As a reference to the start date for the cooperation between the two partners and the fact that 8 is a lucky number in China, Lamy handed over a cheque of 8,888 Euros for charitable purposes to Energetic Asia Ltd. Lamy also presented Energetic Asia with a special writing instrument to mark the anniversary.
