The new LAMY studio Pt: Timeless perfection in platinum

LAMY adds another chapter to the success story: the LAMY studio has won several prominent design awards, and now Lamy is adding the top-quality LAMY studio Pt to the series. This fine writing instrument underlines the personality of its owner by means of minimalist design. The timeless elegance of this stylistic approach combined with a new exclusive material results in the new LAMY studio Pt, which is available as of now with a high-gloss-polished and platinum-finished surface as a fountain pen, ballpoint or ink rollerball.

The design of the LAMY studio Pt comes from the hand of Hannes Wettstein, one of the most innovative and influential designers of recent decades, who created the LAMY studio series for the Heidelberg family firm of C. Josef Lamy GmbH in 2005. Wettstein is referred to as the ‘Master of Simplicity’, as a genius when it comes to combining functionality and aesthetic appeal. Perfect, therefore, for achieving success together with the LAMY brand, which takes this Bauhaus principle into the present day with each new writing instrument it introduces to the market. Wettstein immortalised his passion for Bauhaus design when he created the distinctive ‘propeller clip’ on the LAMY studio. This elegantly twisted clip marked Lamy’s break with old stylistic form. The clip continues today to define the uniqueness and unmistakable quality of the LAMY studio series and is therefore an essential feature of the LAMY studio Pt, too.

The LAMY studio Pt can be purchased at specialist retailers and in selected department stores. All models of the LAMY studio Pt have the characteristic platinum-finished metal clip. The fountain pen has a partially platinised 14-carat bicoloured gold nib, which creates a discreet but also powerful contrast to the overall platinum surface.

The LAMY studio Pt is one hundred per cent ‘Made in Germany’ – like all Lamy products from Heidelberg.

The LAMY brand stands for high-quality designer writing instruments defined by their timeless modern aesthetics and perfect functionality. Its success story began over 50 years ago with the LAMY 2000: in 1966, the model established the clear and unmistakeable design which still defines the style of all the brand’s products today – the Lamy design. As an independent family business, Lamy has been associated with Heidelberg since it was first founded in 1930 and therefore guarantees consistent high quality, “Made in Germany”. With an annual production of over 8 million writing instruments and turnover of more than 110 million euros in 2016, Lamy today is not only the market leader in Germany but has developed to become an internationally sought-after brand. The company continues to set trends, not just through its annual special editions and has inspired writing enthusiasts around the world with its innovative colours and surface finishes. In this way, Lamy continues to reinvent itself and proves that a writing instrument is more than just an everyday object: it is a genuine lifestyle accessory which expresses the pleasures of writing by hand and highlights the individuality of the owner.
