We respect the personal rights of our customers and partners as a matter of course. This also applies to handling data arising from your Internet visit. We are certain that as an Internet user in particular you will want to know that your privacy is assured. For this reason we act in accordance with the applicable regulations for the protection of data relating to personal data and to data security. You can find out below which data we gather, process and use, what rights you have to demand information and much more.
This data protection declaration applies to the use of the websites (hereinafter referred to as “Lamy websites”) offered for use by C. Josef Lamy GmbH (hereinafter referred to as “Lamy”). Lamy websites can contain links to other providers’ websites to which this data protection declaration does not apply.
Personal data concerns information about the personal and factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural individual. In this sense, for example, your name, your address, your bank account, passport or phone numbers, your e-mail address or IP number are deemed to be personal data.By contrast, data which cannot be used to ascertain your actual identity is not deemed to be personal. This includes, for example, information about your gender, which browser you use or which writing system you prefer.
When using Lamy websites you retain your anonymity providing that, of your own volition, you do not make personal data available to us. The only exception to this principle is the temporary automatic gathering and storing of your IP number. More detailed information on this subject is available below.
Each time you visit Lamy websites we automatically gather information about which IP number is assigned to your computer, which browser and which operating system you use, and which websites you have viewed. This data is stored in log files on the Web server. Of this data, only the IP number comprises personal data. To protect against the misuse of our computer systems it is necessary to store the IP number of each visitor for a temporary period. If in addition we refer to the log files in order to generate usage profiles, whether for the purposes of advertising, market research, or to design our websites according to requirement, the IP numbers are rendered anonymous in advance. Otherwise the IP numbers are deleted from the log files. As a result you therefore remain anonymous even when your IP number is gathered and stored temporarily.
