Prize of prizes for the LAMY noto

In record time, Lamy’s strikingly sleek LAMY noto ballpoint pen has won all the major prizes which are awarded for design since its market introduction less than two years ago. These include the iF Product Design Award as well as the red dot Design Award and the prestigious Good Design Award of the Chicago Athenaeum.

The latest showpiece in this amazing trophy collection is the award which stands right at the top of the wish list for all designers throughout the world: the Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany.

From the more than 1,200 competition entrants, which, as in previous years, were nominated exclusively by the economic ministries or senators of Germany’s federal states and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, on this occasion 23 entries were selected for the sought-after 2010 award in the product design category.

The reason given by the high-calibre jury for singling out the LAMY noto for this award was as follows: ‘No other product in this category embodies the reduction of form in such a unique way. The LAMY noto is the most modern ballpoint pen in its class and is an excellent companion.’

High praise indeed from the experts for a small, highly affordable utility object created by the master of simple form, the Japanese star designer Naoto Fukasawa, on behalf of Lamy. At www.designpreis.de you can see how good the LAMY noto looks alongside the other prize winners.
